Banner Marsh – August 3, 2024

This weekend, we held Stop #5 of the Southern Illinois Kayak Club season at the always-anticipated Banner Marsh. Known for producing big fish, the lake proved tough this time around as high temps and bluebird skies made for challenging conditions. Still, our anglers persevered and several managed to shine!

Congratulations to our top three finishers!
Dalton Williams took 1st place, putting himself firmly in the driver’s seat for the Angler of the Year title with just one tournament remaining. Well done, Dalton! He also takes home the $100 ZPRO Lithium prize, once again showing that serious power is for serious anglers.

Jay Reidler secured 2nd place, an incredible achievement—especially considering he’s only one month post-shoulder surgery! Your grit and determination are inspiring, Jay.

Jerry Bryson rounded out the top three, taking 3rd place by navigating “the lake less traveled.” His strong finish puts him in prime position for Rookie of the Year honors.

A special shoutout to Brandon Neuzil, who landed the Heads Up Taxidermy Big Bass of the Day with a 20-inch fish! Fantastic catch, Brandon.
