Sangchris Lake Shines: Dalton Williams Goes Back-to-Back
Our third tournament of the 2025 SIKC season is officially in the books, and Sangchris Lake didn’t disappoint. The weather kept us guessing, but the rain held off just long enough for a full day of fishing — and it turned out to be one of the most exciting events of the season so far.
A huge thank-you goes out to everyone who made the trip and helped keep things running smoothly. From early sign-ups to great sportsmanship and positive energy at the ramp, this event was everything SIKC is about.
Dalton Williams Stays Hot with a Second Straight Win
Dalton Williams continues to dominate, taking 1st place with 92.50” of bass — marking back-to-back wins and solidifying his position at the top of the Angler of the Year standings. Dalton has clearly found his rhythm and remains laser-focused on defending his 2024 AOY title.
Larry Horne Finds Success in the Grass
Larry Horne claimed 2nd place with 91.00”, piecing together a strong limit by targeting bass buried deep in thick grass using a green pumpkin Senko. His patient, methodical approach paid off big and showed that sometimes the slow grind is what wins checks.
Consistency from Darren Hemker
For the third straight event, Darren Hemker earned 3rd place, continuing his incredible run of consistency. After a quiet morning, Darren turned things around with a late-day surge on a Neko rig, upgrading several times in the final hours to secure yet another podium finish.
Big Bass and Big Thanks
Dalton also took home the Heads Up Taxidermy Big Bass Award with a massive 21.50” largemouth that anchored his winning bag and sealed his double victory.
A huge shoutout to Midwest Kayak Company, who continues to donate an extra $50 to the Big Bass pot at every event this season — it’s that kind of support that keeps the excitement high and the prizes even sweeter.
We also want to recognize RAILBLAZA for their continued partnership and incredible prize support. Two of our anglers went home with top-tier kayak accessories that are quickly becoming must-haves in the sport. Their generosity and commitment to kayak anglers make a huge difference for our club.
