SIKC Open at Lake of Egypt

One more tournament before we put the rods away.

The Southern Illinois Kayak Club is hosting a late-season SIKC Open at Lake of Egypt on Saturday, November 7. This event is open to SIKC members and non-members and will feature an eight-hour kayak bass tournament, Big Bass payout, and two Kistler Magnesium Reel giveaways at checkout.

Registration opens October 1.

EVENT DETAILS

Date: Saturday, November 7, 2026

Location: Lake of Egypt in Marion, IL

Entry Fee: $60 per angler

Launch Time: 6:00 AM

Lines-In: 7:00 AM

Lines-Out: 3:00 PM

Format: Catch-Photo-Release, 5-fish limit, 12 inch minimum

Anglers may launch from any legal public access point on Lake of Egypt.

Every registered angler who shows up for the official tournament checkout will be entered for a chance to win one of two Kistler Magnesium Reels or a grand prize of a Bates Fishing Co. Goat SWM 200 Casting Reel!

2 Kistler Reels • Approximately $150 Value Each

1 Bates Fishing Co. Goat SWM 200 • Approximately $400

1 Kistler Ultralight Rod • Approximately $200

You must attend checkout to be entered into the giveaway.

ENTRY FEE & PAYOUTS

The entry fee is $60 per angler.

We want anglers to know exactly where their entry money goes:

  • $5 per angler — Big Bass pot

  • $6.50 per angler — TourneyX fee

  • $200 total — Event insurance

  • Remaining funds — Tournament payout

After TourneyX fees and event insurance are covered, the remaining tournament pot will be paid to the Top 5:

1st Place — 50%
2nd Place — 25%
3rd Place — 15%
4th Place — 5%
5th Place — 5%

The Big Bass pot is separate and consists of $5 from every angler's entry fee.

Final payout amounts will be determined by the total number of registered anglers.

Additional Information

  • Anglers may launch from any legal public access point on Lake of Egypt.

    The Shawnee Park launch is free.

    If you choose to launch from a marina or another access point that charges for launching, parking, or lake access, you are responsible for paying all applicable fees.

    Those fees are not included with your SIKC or TourneyX registration.

    Please respect all launch facilities and follow the individual rules of the access point you choose.

  • You do not have to be an SIKC member to fish this event.

    However, all non-members must complete an SIKC liability waiver before participating.

    Current SIKC members with the appropriate waiver already on file do not need to complete another waiver.

  • The Lake of Egypt Open will be conducted under the current SIKC Official Tournament Rules unless an event-specific exception is announced by the Tournament Director.

    Anglers are responsible for knowing and following:

    • SIKC Official Tournament Rules

    • TourneyX submission requirements

    • Illinois fishing regulations

    • Lake of Egypt regulations

    • Rules and fee requirements for their chosen launch location

    Additional information regarding identifiers, checkout location, photo submission deadlines, and other tournament-day procedures will be provided to registered anglers prior to the event.
