SIKC Tournament #3 Recap – Coffeen Lake

SIKC Tournament #3 at Coffeen Lake is in the books, and this one delivered both big bags and a wide range of successful patterns across the field.

With 41 anglers competing, Coffeen produced a strong showing overall, with 247 fish submitted and 32 anglers bringing in a full five-fish limit. From ultra-shallow frog bites in just 2 inches of water to anglers connecting offshore with deep crankbaits and worms on humps and points, this event showcased just how many ways Coffeen can set up in early summer.

At the top, Dalton Williams continued his dominant season with a winning total of 96.25 inches. Dalton also claimed Big Bass honors with a 21.00-inch fish. His winning bag came entirely on a frog, proving once again that when that shallow bite is on, it can produce the kind of quality needed to separate from the field.

Joshua Lincoln put together a strong bag for 2nd place with 89.25 inches, while Wade Hobaugh finished close behind in 3rd with 88.75 inches. Brandon Neuzil claimed 4th with 87.75 inches, and Wil Abbott rounded out the top five with 85.50 inches.

Top 5 Results

  1. Dalton Williams – 96.25"

  2. Joshua Lincoln – 89.25"

  3. Wade Hobaugh – 88.75"

  4. Brandon Neuzil – 87.75"

  5. Wil Abbott – 85.50"

One of the most interesting takeaways from Coffeen was the variety of approaches that produced. Some anglers capitalized on aggressive shallow fish by frogging in inches of water, while others found success slowing down offshore and targeting deeper structure with crankbaits and worms. It was a fun reminder that on the right lake, there can be more than one way to build a competitive bag.

A special thank you goes out to Jered Shofner, Susie Roloff, Lee Van Hoose, and Dustin Siegel for serving as judges for the event. Their help behind the scenes plays a big role in making tournaments like this run smoothly.
