Dustin Siegel Takes the Win at Cedar Lake

Cedar Lake once again lived up to its reputation as one of the premier big-bass fisheries on the SIKC schedule during Tournament #5 of the 2026 season.

Thirty-nine anglers competed on August 22, combining to submit 139 fish. Seventeen anglers managed to put together a five-fish limit, and five different competitors landed bass measuring 20 inches or better.

At the end of the day, it was Dustin Siegel who came out on top with an 88.25-inch limit. Dustin’s winning bag was anchored by a 21.50-inch bass and proved just enough to hold off Walt McCree, who finished only half an inch behind with 87.75 inches. Nicholas Bryson rounded out the podium with 86.50 inches.

Top 5

  1. Dustin Siegel — 88.25"

  2. Walt McCree — 87.75"

  3. Nicholas Bryson — 86.50"

  4. Jonathan Kessler — 86.50"

  5. Jeremy Wikgren — 85.75"

The battle near the top was extremely tight, with less than three inches separating first through fifth place. Nicholas Bryson and Jonathan Kessler both finished with 86.50 inches, while Jeremy Wikgren was less than an inch behind them at 85.75 inches.

Cedar Lake Giants

Cedar has long been known within SIKC for producing oversized bass, and this tournament only added to that reputation.

Five anglers submitted bass measuring at least 20 inches:

  • Wade Hobaugh — 22.50"

  • Dustin Siegel — 21.50"

  • Jerry Bryson — 20.75"

  • Jeremy Wikgren — 20.25"

  • Kendall Mezo — 20.25"

The biggest fish of the tournament belonged to Wade Hobaugh, whose massive 22.50-inch largemouth earned Event Big Bass honors.

For a lake that already holds many of SIKC’s all-time big-fish marks, Cedar once again showed exactly why anglers circle this event on the calendar.

Congratulations to Dustin Siegel on the victory, Wade Hobaugh on Big Bass, and everyone who finished near the top of a very competitive field.

With Cedar complete, just one regular-season event remains on the 2026 schedule as SIKC heads to Newton Lake for the season finale.
