SIKC Tournament Recap – Sangchris Lake
What a day at Sangchris Lake!
Thirty-seven anglers launched in pursuit of one of the toughest summer bites of the season, and they proved once again why SIKC continues to raise the bar for competitive kayak fishing in Illinois. With 124 bass brought to the board, anglers adapted to changing conditions and showcased just how much the level of competition in our club has grown.
🥇 Dalton Williams continued his incredible 2026 campaign by claiming the victory with an impressive 93.00-inch limit. Dalton put together one of the strongest bags we've seen this season, anchored by a pair of fish over 19 inches.
🥈 Jay Reidler made the trip from Missouri and nearly stole the win, finishing just 1.75 inches behind the leader with 91.25 inches.
🥉 Walt McCree rounded out the podium with 91.00 inches, proving once again that consistency and experience on offshore structure can compete with anyone in the field.

4th – Wil Abbott: 86.50"
5th – Darren Hemker: 83.75"
🎣 Big Bass Honors went to Jay Reidler, who claimed the award after landing a 20.50-inch largemouth. Jay's fish tied the tournament's largest bass with Jonathan Kessler's 20.50-inch catch, with Jay earning the tiebreaker based on the earliest submission.
One of the biggest takeaways from this event wasn't just the winning bags—it was how many anglers independently found the same productive offshore patterns. Years ago, Sangchris often rewarded anglers who discovered overlooked offshore structure. This year, many of those same key areas had multiple competitors fishing them throughout the day. It's a testament to how much the anglers in SIKC continue to learn from one another and elevate the overall level of competition.
