Peabody River King (Beaver Lake) – July 2021

Tournament #5 of the 2021 Southern Illinois Kayak Club season, presented by Freaky Frank’s Custom Tackle, is officially in the books. Our anglers enjoyed a great day on the water fishing Beaver Lake at Peabody River King in New Athens, Illinois, and we want to thank all the members who were able to attend and compete.

A huge congratulations goes out to Dylan Fuqua, who earned his first victory of the 2021 season in impressive fashion. Dylan rocketed to the top of the leaderboard after landing a 22-inch kicker bass on a wacky rig, sealing a well-earned win. Congratulations, Dylan!

Finishing in 2nd place, Andrew Garman continued his strong season, finding success on a chatterbait bite. This marked Andrew’s second top-three finish of the year, keeping him firmly in contention for a spot on the Crossroads Team.

Rounding out the top three, Wil Abbott secured 3rd place by committing to throwing a big worm throughout the day. This was Wil’s first top-three finish, and judging by his performance, it certainly won’t be his last.

Thank you to everyone who attended and made this tournament such a great event. We truly appreciate the continued support from our anglers and look forward to seeing everyone again at our next stop on Coffeen Lake.
