Kinkaid Lake – May 22, 2021

Tournament #2 of the 2021 Southern Illinois Kayak Club season at Kinkaid Lake is officially in the books, and it was a true test of patience and perseverance. We’d like to thank all of our members who made it out for the second event of the season and battled through some very tough conditions.

The bass certainly didn’t make things easy, as bites were few and far between throughout the day. Still, every angler gave it their best, and by day’s end it was clear that everyone faced the same grind on the water.

A huge congratulations goes out to our top three anglers who managed to crack the code under difficult circumstances. Glenn Banaszak earned his first victory of the 2021 season, sealing the win with a key kicker bass caught on a Spittin’ Image jig.

Dustin Siegel put his pre-fishing to good use, steadily working his way up the leaderboard to secure a strong 2nd-place finish.

Rounding out the top three, Joshua Lincoln finished 3rd and also took home Big Bass of the Tournament, thanks to his commitment to fishing a weightless worm for most of the day.

Once again, we want to thank all of our anglers who came out and supported this event. Your dedication and sportsmanship are what make SIKC tournaments special. We can’t wait to see everyone at our next stop on Cedar Lake!
